Forest therapy, also know as Shinrin Yoku, is a deep nature connection practice that was developed in Japan in the early 1980's. Shinrin Yoku translates to "bathing in the atmosphere
of the forest" or simply, forest bathing.
The intention of forest therapy is to have an embodied experience of nature, which can offer many health benefits. Studies have shown that time spent in nature can boost the immune system, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve mood and sleep. Healing can also look like releasing stuck emotions and feeling more joyful and peaceful. Forest therapy can also offer
a deeper sense of connection to the more than human world, including the trees, animals,
plant life, and the elements, such as water.
As your guide, I lead you through a series of invitations that allow you to slow down and
deepen into your senses. This process can open the door to your curiosity, pleasure and
even sometimes grief. How deep you go into this connection is up to you.
I am only your guide. Nature is the healer.
I offer both community walks, group sessions and private sessions. Please see the schedule below for upcoming community walks. If you're interested in booking me for a group experience with friends or family, or would like a private session, please email me at wildearthkinship@gmail.com.
Group Session (3 hours - minimum of 4 participants, maximum of 15) - $20 per person
Private Session (2-2.5 hours) - $75
***Disclaimer*** I am not a licensed mental health professional. These sessions are for nature connection only. I do not practice or offer any psychotherapy during a forest therapy walk.
